You should be able to find most of your supplies in local hardware stores.\u00a0 It is surprising what they have, or can get for you. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Components (like stainless steel sheet) can often be acquired from local (or online) scrapyards and surplus businesses.<\/p>\n Be sure to research scrap and surplus sources whenever possible because you can often get what you need for pennies on the dollar. \u00a0Of course, some critical\u2019 items (mostly involving safety) should be bought new; but for the most part, components either work or they don\u2019t and I\u2019ve been able to buy some really high quality (sometimes military) surplus items really inexpensively.<\/p>\n My early books were written before there was an internet, so supplies that couldn\u2019t be found locally (like in the Yellow Pages), required tedious research to find catalogs and supplier information.\u00a0 The Thomas Register of Manufacturer\u2019s (pricy but available in most libraries) was a huge boon.\u00a0 Now, supply searches are not only fast and efficient but you can compare prices and features nearly instantly with a web search.<\/p>\n Safety Supplies<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Industrial Safety Co.,\u00a01390 Neubrecht Rd., Lima, Ohio, 45801.
